WOW - So Much to Share!

Hi again stampers!

Yes, I am still alive! Where does the time go so quickly? I again apologize for my long absence, but I have some great announcements that I hope will help you to forgive me!

First off, on a personal note, I am almost three months pregnant! The morning sickness has not been pleasant, but I look forward to what's to come. I have my first ultrasound this week so I will have another update after that.

Now on to the Stampin' Up! announcements!

1. Today the Country Living Summer Cookout Kit is available for purchase through August 31st, while supplies last. Click here to view the flyer. And click here to view the contents of the kit.

2. For the month of June, Stampin' Up! is giving $20 in extra hostess bucks for personal or workshop purchases totaling $250-$399.99 before tax and shipping or $40 in extra hostess bucks for $400 or more. SBD Color Challenge Cards

The other day I made a few cards for the next Stamper's By Design group challenge. The challenge was to use the colors: black, white, and ONE other color of our choosing. These colors definitely make for some elegant looking cards! I thought I'd share with you a couple of my creations, and feel free to share your feedback with me.

This was the first card I came up with and I really like the combination of the Certainly Celery with the black and white. I used rub-ons from the Eastern Elegance set on Whisper White and then punched them out with the 1/2" circle punch to make the three dots. I used the It's Wonderful Jumbo Wheel for the design on the top.

The next card I did using the same design, but I just used the white rub-ons on the black paper instead.

For the last card, I used Rose Red as my third color. For the images I used the Garden Whimsy stamp set and the Whimsy Jumbo Wheel. To make the three dots I used a White Gel Pen and the Paper Piercing Template. I also added a small amount of Crystal Effects to each dot to make them shiny and add some dimension.

Instructions 1. Stamp image in Jet Black Stazon ink on Watercolor Paper (2-7/8” X 2-5/8”). Color image using Aqua Painter and Basic Grey, Blue Bayou, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, and Ruby Red inks. Distress edges of Watercolor Paper. 2. Stamp greeting in Chocolate Chip ink on Ruby Red card stock (2-5/8” X 3/8”). Attach to Watercolor Paper with Stampin’ Dimensionals. 3. Punch three circles on Chocolate Chip card stock. Attach silver brads. Adhere watercolor paper to Chocolate Chip card stock. Adhere to card.

New Techniques and Project Ideas Sections

I just wanted to let you know that I have added two new sections to my blog. One section is called Stamping Techniques and I will add a new technique to the page every week or so. Feel free to try the techniques yourself and send me any photos of your work. I will post the photos on my blog for others to see and use as inspiration. The directions will generally be PDF documents for you to view and print. The other section is a list of links to project ideas. I will sporadically add to this list as well. These will be links that will take you to the directions on how to make these projects. Some project ideas I will actually post if I am able to.
